I’ve used this quote to guide my art and what it means to become aware of the elements that have shaped me, and others like me. My art focuses on the origins, struggles and endeavors of black and brown people by depicting historical events and figures. I aim to try and inspire people to become masters of themselves by showing them what shaped them.
